CURIS SYSTEMS Obtains Addition to Its EPA Registration–C. Diff in a Tri-Part Soil Load
ORLANDO, Fla., October 3, 2019 — CURIS System (CURIS®), global manufacturer of disinfection and decontamination products announced the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has approved CURIS’ disinfectant CURoxide™ for use against C. diff in a Tri-part soil load (https://www3.epa.gov/pesticides/chem_search/ppls/093324-00001-20190919.pdf). CURIS’ patented Pulse™ hydrogen peroxide system, combined with its EPA-registered CURoxide solution, provides efficacious decontamination across a multitude of applications.
Frances M. Grinstead, CURIS’ Chief Executive Officer, stated: “This latest amendment to our EPA registration further solidifies our efficacy to achieve a six-log reduction of C. diff in a tri-part soil load. By meeting the EPA’s new and most stringent C. diff disinfection requirements, CURIS demonstrates the ability to kill 99.9999% of C. diff spores in a tri-part soil load and sets itself apart from its competitors. I have always stressed the importance of approval for C. diff as an essential EPA claim for many different markets. Where can CURIS Systems be used?
Curis System was specifically designed for portability and for use in a multitude of settings. Although comparatively small in size, its extraordinary power allows users the ability to easily treat sealed spaces.
Why is Pulse Technology important?
Our patented Pulse Technology allows the fog/mist to achieve maximum efficacy by maintaining an optimal filled space creating a consistent dwell-time.
How much solution will it take to treat a room?
Because each space differs in size, contents, and targeted pathogen, there is no simple answer to this question. That said however, our Pulse Technology and consistent droplet size DOES require up to 30% LESS chemical than other options on the market.
Is it safe around computers, electronics, and fabrics?
Yes! Our system and solutions have been tested extensively (and are subjected to continual testing) for material compatibility.
Can I enter the room before the dry-fog dissipates?
A room in the process of dry-fogging can only be entered if using PPE equipment. The CURIS System will monitor the stage of treatment and alert the user when it is safe to reenter the space.
How long will it take to treat a space?
There really is no typical time for a treatment as each facility and space has specific needs, requirements, and challenges. For instance, treating a small room will take less time than treating a larger shared space.
What solution is used in CURIS System?
Our CURIS device is coupled with CURoxide and, combined, our system is EPA registered.
Can’t we just use quaternary ammoniums and bleaches?
We are aware of the massive selection of products on the market, but there are many pitfalls in depending upon them to successfully and thoroughly eradicate serious infections in often-complicated settings.
